SAN DIEGO BLOOD BANK COLLECTS APPROXIMATELY 250 UNITS OF BLOOD AND 709 POUNDS OF FOOD AT FOURTH ANNUAL SDCCU HOLIDAY BOWL BLOOD & FOOD DRIVE  PRESENTED BY KAISER PERMANENTE

SAN DIEGO (November 18, 2020) Approximately 250 units of blood and 709 pounds of food were donated yesterday at the SDCCU Holiday Bowl Blood & Food Drive presented by Kaiser Permanente.

The drive took place at Grossmont Center, where blood donors received a special-edition Holiday Bowl T-shirt and a raffle entry to win a pair of tickets to the SDCCU Holiday Bowl game on December 28 at Petco Park.

“We are so thankful to everyone at the Holiday Bowl, SDCCU, The San Diego Food Bank and everyone who came out and supported this event today” said San Diego Blood Bank Director of Community Relations & Media, Claudine Van Gonka. “These donations are equivalent to 750 potential lives saved and 591 meals for our community as we head into the holidays.”

To be eligible to donate blood, you must be at least 17 years old, weigh at least 114 pounds, and be in general good health. Eligible blood donors are encouraged to schedule an appointment at SanDiegoBloodBank.org or calling 1-800-4-MY-SDBB (1-800-469-7322).
