SAN DIEGO – Billed as the largest annual 3-on-3 tournament in San Diego County, the 27th annual Jack in the Box® "Hoops at the Beach" 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament – May 17-18 – is moving to a new location this year. Competition will take place at Bonita Cove Park, across from the Belmont Park roller coaster, after 26 years at Crown Point Shores. The new location offers a better playing surface and larger area for family and friends to enjoy the weekend.
In addition, organizers announced that San Diego Chargers wide receiver Malcom Floyd will serve as a celebrity judge for the San Diego County Kia Retailers Slam Dunk Contest. Floyd will be on site for the competition, free to all participants, on Center Court at 12 noon, Saturday, May 17. A $500 cash prize is being offered to the winner this year.
Registration is currently open for the 3-on-3 tournament and the early bird deadline is at 5:00 p.m., this Friday, May 9. Prices will increase by $15 per team after that point. The final entry deadline is Friday, May 16 at 4:00 p.m.
Competition is open to all ages and skill levels. A team entry fee includes at least two games in double elimination or round-robin play. There are 12 divisions for boys and men, six divisions for girls and women, a co-ed division and a wheelchair division. There are age divisions for both genders ranging from 3rd to 12th grade. Men can compete in the Elite, 6'0 & under, 6'3 & under, Men's Open, Masters (30 & over), Super Masters (40 & over), and Senior Masters (50 & over) divisions. Women can also compete in the Women's Open division. Kids divisions 3rd through 8th grade will play Sunday only.

In addition to 3-on-3 tournament action and the San Diego County Kia Retailers Slam Dunk Contest, fans can participate in the San Diego Chargers 3-Point Shootout and a Free Throw Challenge over both days.
Food trucks will be on site throughout the weekend, highlighted by the SuperQ Food Truck, SnoCal Shaved Ice and New Orleans Cuisine and Catering.

This event serves as a fundraiser for the non-profit National University Holiday Bowl, a 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to generate tourism, exposure, economic benefit and civic pride for San Diego and its citizens by producing the nation's most exciting college football bowl game and festival of events.
